Dear Blues Family,


As summer comes spiraling our way, let me share with you what will be happening with the Blues Society of Western Pa.

 

Fests:

 

•Thank you to Tracy Randall and Patty Cekoric for hosting a booth at Western PA Jazz and Blues Fest in Indiana, PA on May 27. Thank you, Indiana, for your gracious invite.

Upcoming:

•Franklin Blues Fest, Franklin, PA…June 16, 17…Free event. (Proceeds will benefit Franklin’s Music programs in their schools.)

•Pittsburgh Blues and Roots Fest, Cheswick, PA…July 21 and 22. Fee (Proceeds will benefit Autism.)

•Heritage Music Fest, Wheeling, WV…. August 10,11,12. Fee

•Blues & BBQ, Laird Avenue, Hopewell Twp. (Hopewell Community Park). Saturday, September 15.
Noon – 8 pm.
Free family-oriented event. Hiking trails, fishing lake, playground, handicap friendly
BBQ and beverages will be available for purchase.
Featuring: Matt Barranti Band, Jae Marie & the Soul Merchants, Charlie Barath & Jimmy Adler Band, Mahajibee.

 

City Music Awareness project:

 

Blues in the Square, Market Square, Pittsburgh, PA…Free event. 5 pm – 10 pm
Many eateries are nearby. A parking garage is steps away. Make a night of this event. Bring your families, neighbors, colleagues. Enjoy the blues under the stars.

June 16…. Pierce Dipner & Shade of Blue, Spectrum, Elias Khouri & E.K Band, Aris Paul Band.

October 20 …. Chris Yakopcic, Bobby Thompson and the Groove, Jeff Fetterman Band.

 

Blues Sundays:

 

Beginning June 3 – September 9…Blues Sundays will be happening at Houlihan’s at the Galleria, Mt. Lebanon. Free event. 7 pm – 10 pm. The lineup is spectacular. Check bswpa.org. Houlihan’s will be donating 15 % of all food sales to the BSWPA’s Blues in the Schools program. Come out, enjoy great food, hear great music and ‘Let’s do it for the kids’.
